Sofia Pernas is a Moroccan actress born and raised in Orange County. At the age of five, she left Morocco for California. In the year 2015, she graduated from University of California San Diego and received her first big break in acting. Pernas was a popular actress who made brief appearances on NCIS as well as Leverage prior to her debut in the part as Marisa on The Young and the Restless and was an established face on the soap opera. The actress was cast as Catalina in Jane the Virgin after she was let go of the soap.
