Born in Morocco, Sofia Pernas moved to California when she was just 5 years old. She grew up within Orange County. She earned her degree at the University of California, San Diego in the year 2015, which was the year in which she received her first big break as an actor. Pernas had a few guest appearances on NCIS as well as Leverage, before securing the role of Marisa on The Young and the Restless. The actress, who left this soap at the end of 2016 was cast in the role of Catalina as a regular in Jane the Virgin. The actress who is multi-lingual has appeared on The Brave, The Green Ghost, and Secret Society of Second Born Royals. From 2019 through 2020, she appeared as Lexi Vaziri in Blood & Treasure. Us Weekly reported in May 2020 that Pernas was in a relationship with Justin Hartley from The Young and the Restless. This relationship started when Chrishell Stause and This Is Us actress split in November of 2018. News broke in April 2021, that Pernas and Hartley have recently got married at a secret wedding.
